Russia and India will make and show together movies and animation (filmpro.ru)

AF "Digital Television" (VGTRK subsidiary and Rostelecom) and Prasar Bharati (India) held a meeting with journalists to tell about joint cooperation which scale is measured by hundreds of millions of audience in both countries. The market is huge, its development already began.

The memorandum of cooperation two media holdings signed in August, and the directions of this cooperation a set. It especially is important that the contacts of the Russian and Indian cultures which are actively developing in the second half of the XX century, in recent years, by recognition of speakers, were almost lost. The Indian cinema popular in the USSR, practically disappeared from the Russian screens. The Russian content is unknown in India. But everything will change in the nearest future. The first result of this cooperation is already received: On November 27 in India the premiere of the Russian documentary blockbuster "An Amur leopard was held. Fight for a taiga throne", completely duplicated in Hindi.

The start is given. To define as far as this important cooperation, the representative of the Indian side, the chairman of the board of directors of the largest media corporation Prasar Bharati Suriya Prakash, sounded several figures. In India today about 830 TV channels from which nearly 400 specialize in news. More than 200 channels are planned to be opened in the nearest future. From 1300 million residents of India TV is watched by 800 million. The Prasar Bharati company in this market possesses 23 TV channels and 421 radio stations. These resources can be used for delivery of the Russian content of 500 million residents of India speaking Hindi. At the same time the company is interested also in that the Indian content had success in Russia. For this purpose in the company the special department which makes a big package of documentary products for Russia was created. So, negotiations on the large-scale documentary cycle telling about forts of India are now conducted. Them in the country about five hundred remained. Besides, offer us movies and programs about the Indian monuments, music, dances. The Prasar Bharati company considers one more important direction movies which will tell the Russian audience about modern India, breaking stereotypes, narrating about modern achievements of science, culture and society. By way of illustration this thought Suriya Prakash gave average Indian office. In it the most part of employees - women that does not match in any way patriarchal templates which exist concerning India abroad. For the Russian media which will come to India to tell about it to the Russian audience all terms will be offered, and first such "landing" was already directed from Russia there.

The Russian side at this meeting was represented by Dmitry Mednikov, the deputy CEO of VGTRK, the chairman of the board of directors of JSC Digital Television. He reported that VGTRK treats cooperation with India very seriously. The package from about thousands of units of documentary content of different subject is presented to the Indian colleagues. Now duplication of the most part of new products of "The central television" (further - TsT) in Hindi is actively conducted. TsT includes today 12 thematic TV channels where the main content are documentary programs and animation. Much of what is shown by these channels can and will be shown in India. The main subject of products which interests the Indian partners, - culture, art, science, the nature.

But the main thing for the Russian side not it. Big emphasis will be placed on production of the interactive animated films calculated on the international market. These are, in fact, the simplest computer games created on the basis of popular animated films. They are aimed at small children who by means of such games will learn the world. The first samples of such games will appear in January, 2017 - at first in English though they will be available also in India, and then, in three months, in Hindi. It is in the long term planned to arrange coproduction of games and traditional animated films by the Russian and Indian experts. Two Russian channels in Hindi will be started in India. Between the countries exchange of popular teleformats and a regular training of employees of Russia and India is planned.

The memorandum of cooperation of two companies was signed for 5 years, during this time the Russian-Indian cultural relations can reach new level. Representatives of Russia and India agree that this partnership can become the main for formation of east cultural block which will create an alternative to western.
